ELCC Standard Element 2.1: Candidates understand and can sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning through collaboration, trust, and a personalized learning environment with high expectations for students.

In my role, ELCC 2.1 is more than a guideline; it's a hands-on approach that involves understanding and cultivating a school culture conducive to student learning. I focus on supporting teachers and students in Tier 1 directly within the classroom setting. As I navigate through this tier, I seamlessly transition into Tier 2, where I lead pull-out groups using the LLI program.
Within the classroom, my emphasis is on fostering collaboration, trust, and a personalized learning environment with high expectations. I actively engage with teachers to assess the impact of our intervention strategies during Tier 1, ensuring that the classroom environment is supportive of student learning. Trust is built through transparent communication and shared decision-making as we evaluate the success of these strategies.
Moving into Tier 2, I work with small pull-out groups using the LLI program. This targeted intervention allows for a personalized approach, tailoring strategies based on individual student needs while maintaining high expectations for academic growth.
If further support is required, I am proactive in referring students during CSE and IEP meetings. This collaborative effort involves other stakeholders to address the diverse needs of students requiring additional support beyond Tiers 1 and 2. ELCC 2.1 serves as my practical guide, ensuring a positive school culture that prioritizes student success at every level of intervention.
