• Alignment with Standard: This activity aligns with ELCC Standard 6.1 by demonstrating a commitment to advocating for the needs of school students, families, and caregivers, particularly those from low-income backgrounds. By devising a plan for free activities based on parent feedback, school leaders actively work to remove barriers to participation and ensure equitable access to educational and community resources. This approach fosters a supportive environment that values and responds to the diverse needs of the school community, promotes parental involvement, and helps to build strong, positive relationships between the school and families. Advocacy efforts such as these ensure that all families, regardless of their economic status, have the opportunity to engage with and benefit from school programs.
